'I am in Surfers Paradise and am staying at the Sleeping Inn Backpackers Resort. It is $17 a night if you book a week at once, and you get a whole apartment! It’s fantastic, there are 2 bedrooms each sleeping four, the bedrooms have their own bathrooms and everyone shares a decent sized kitchen, a telly area, a dining area and a balcony. It’s really nice after ages of staying in hostels to feel like I’m living in a home again!! It’s fantastic: the best hostel I’ve stayed in so far. This friendly and lively, atmospheric hostel, situated in Kings Cross is popular with both the old and younger crowds. It suits all types of people, whether you want to party with fellow backpackers after a meet-up in the courtyard or sit down in the snug warmth of the television room. Its friendly staff can be found inside, second door to the right of the building. The only downside I had with it was paying a deposit on the keys and the bedding, adding to a total cost of $40. Obviously the money will be paid back but it still leaves a big hole in the wallet for however long you chose to stay.

Apart from that, I had a brilliant time there with the use of its clean facilities and fully equipped kitchen. Other travellers were keen to get to know one another and never entered or left a room without a hello or goodbye. With its location not far from the Kings Cross train station and within walking distance from Sydney Opera House, it certainly is a convenient place to stay.
