"The Green Hut is a brand new place within spitting distance of the Golden Triangle (shopping malls galore). The owner really makes you feel at home and will do anything to help. Dorms are 20 ringgit (less than £3.50) but for 60 ringgit (less than a tenner) we got a spotless double with air con and a balcony including breakfast."

"This place seemingly has no website, we found it (on the Perhentian Islands, Malaysia) through recommendations. For £9 we had a simple but lovely (and clean) beach hut with a million dollar uninterupted view of white sand and the sea was just 12 steps from bed! The on-site restaurant was also spectacular (though alcohol-free so bring a bottle)."
